Just as a FYI for anyone still working on 2014 problems:
I too had to uninstall and reinstall 2014 AND Bridge and this worked great for me:
AFTER you uninstall everything from Adobe that you are going to get rid of go to this site http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html and download Adobes cleaner utility and run it. It will clean up all the little junk left over that never gets uninstalled and sometimes hangs around causing problems. It's a dos utility but easy to follow, just enter simple commands such as Y for yes and hit enter - whole process takes less than 5 min from download to finished. I then ran Ccleaner (also can be found for free) just to clean up all the unwanted junk in my registery - everything works like a champ now!
(There is a paid version of Ccleaner too so make sure you are getting the free one unless you want to buy it) Good luck all!
