I would actually prefer if the sound track could be zoomed to more easily/accurately find best position
In Premiere Elements 10, you can enhance the track view

You can place unnumbered markers in the Timeline as well as in the Preview Window.
Remember, to avoid disturbing the existing Timeline as you add to it, hold done the Alt key of the computer main keyboard as you drag a clip into its
Timeline space.
