Do I need to load the new CC aps to get the updates to Muse, ID, ...

I'm an early Creative Cloud subscriber, and I want to know if I need both the new CC apps in addition to the regular updated apps of the same program? Do I get the same new functionality in the updated apps, or just from the CC apps. I'm confused by these new apps and how they affect the existing apps.
