No, it must not be a PDF, it needs to a proper ebook as it is a proper print book. I'd rather use the other software I use for ePubs for both .mobi and ePub than go PDF. It's just that the print version was made in InDesign CC and it's a landscape, so would have been better to use InDesign. I will see what can be done.
